Why people get them is their business and to each his own. No different then people that collect bottle caps. Many may see that as wierd.

my 2 cents is its ok to collect them, just fine to play with them at home, just fine to have 1,6 or 600 if you collect them. Even to take them outside to hand out biz cards. But to take them outside in public and act like the are real, well not for me...
