An Impure Thought About Amanda Mayes
Well, we hadn't heard anything from our good buddy Nate Livingston for a while until the last few days when he has been posting a series of messages, about, if I'm reading this correctly, some sort of custody battle he is having with someone named Amanda Estelle Mayes.Now, today's posting included a really fascinating photograph of Ms. Mayes from some sort of protest where she was toting an anti-semitic sign.
Yes - puts me in mind immediately of Joy Rolland.
Wait a minute - I do believe Nate Livingston at one time was involved with Joy Rolland as well.
Does this officially make Nate Livingston an even bigger NUT MAGNET than ME??
Now I'm contemplating a few things - partiuclarly about this photograph.
For starters, as much as I hate to admit it, I've already had an impure thought about Amanda Mayes.
And despite, I presume, being involved with at least one pro-African-American protest group, I'm guessing The Dean of Cincinnati would not even be willing to concede that Ms. Mayes IS BLACK.
Two - and this is frightening to the core of human existence - she has Crankshaft's PERMASMIRK. Now, I'm presuming that this doesn't mean that Crankshaft is Black, but rather their common European ancestor ... well ... let's just say that can't POSSIBLY have been a very nice person.
Now, next, although the photograph does not have much resolution, one cannot rule out the very real possibility that Ms. Mayes herself has some Jewish ancestry.
Wouldn't that be a blast?
Now, onto Nate.
Apparently he's produced at least a daughter with Ms. Mayes.
I don't know why exactly, but this is putting me in mind of the one letter that NBC recieved after the first "interracial kiss on television" between William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols. The letter went something like, "Now, I don't believe in the mixing of the races, but when a red-blooded American boy like Jim Kirk gets a good looking gal like Lt. Uhura in his arms he just can't help himself."
Looks like when Nate Livingston comes into contact with bright, but slightly "off" light-skinned Black women ...
Well ... you get the picture ... :)
Of course the most incredibly disappointing thing is that it doesn't look like Amanda Mayes has either a blog OR a Public Access cable television show.
Oh, well ...
At very least maybe Nate will post some more pictures ... :)

Axinar, I'm sure it's within my constitutional rights to bear a permasmirk on my face without blogs discussing either that or my genetic composition.
Not that it stops me from discussing someone elses ancestry. I'm sure Ms Mayes has Jewish ancestry.
The article you refer to is the final chapter in Nate Livingston's hate-filled existence. He wrote a series of articles damning the mother of his two daughters in the most scatological terms possible as well as publicizing every private detail of their relationship he could remember and seemingly some he couldn't remember; that is, he made up.
The irony, of course, is as we see with the sign Ms. Amanda Mayes is carrying in the photo, she is Nate's mirror image -- as hate-filled and irrational as he.
In other words, it should have been a match made in Heaven ... or hell.
But like everything else in his dysfunctional life, he couldn't make it work. After filling Ms. Mayes' head with all his hate and bile, he dumped her and became a dead-beat dad.
Although he may not have become a deadbeat dad, I just make that assumption because everything else in his life is so typical I assume he's a deadbeat dad too.
The tragedy, of course, is had Ms. Mayes met a decent human being when she first came to Cincinnati, she'd have got married and built a fine career and happy family.
Judging from her private email Nate so un-ethically published, she's an excellent diarist with a clever narrative voice.
She could have gone far with her writing hadn't Nate broke her spirit and saddled her with his two bastards.

All the peole named in Nate's blogs are dirty hypocritical fake people.
Amanda Mayes is dirty.
Monica williams is dirty.
Joy Rolland is dirty.
And Nate Livingston has every right in the world to defend himself and speak out if being attacked. Especially if the attacks are on his children.
Period.
Nate has been a deadbeat dad; his ex-wife once sued him for back child support.
Amanda co-chaired with Nate the Coalition for a Just Cincinnati after it helped dissolve Stonewall Cincinnati and before it fell apart itself (this after folks like Linda Newman and Lon Coleman bailed to start Cincinnati Progressive Action).
Once upon a time Amanda romanticized that she and Nate would take over the long-defunct African American Political Caucus. Guess not now.
Oh well. As Laketa Cole once said of Nate (paraphrasing): "Amanda was good in the beginning but then she went too far." Amanda once worked for Alicia Reece in her Council office, and as late as April 2001 was an ok person who believed in something other than making an ill-fated name for herself by conjoining with Nate.
At least she wised up and is young enough to redeem herself. Nate, on the other hand, should probably apologize to the Fruit of Islam (he crapped on them on his blog) so he can once again run with them in the mornings so he can stay in shape to avoid future eviction notices; at least two served in the past year assuming both squatters named Nate Livingston so served are the same.
